I came to painting late in life. After three not very successful back operations, during which I was confined to bed for long stretches of time, and the sports that I loved were out of the question. I happened upon a small book about watercolor at the library. I had always had an affinity for watercolor, and with the simplicity of the lessons in the book I took the first tentative steps in this elusive medium. The most miraculous thing happened when the paint spread across the moist white paper, incredible colors appeared, and the possibilities for paintings seemed endless and fascinating. In short, I was hooked, and my reaction and excitement is the same today.
